The 2027 pre-filling window is open now (23 Oct-7 Dec 2026). Cosmos can check whether your profile fits a Decreto Flussi route before the click days.
Check My EligibilityWhat the Decreto Flussi is
The Decreto Flussi ("flows decree") is the Italian government's annual quota decree that sets how many non-EU nationals can be admitted to work in Italy. It is employer-driven: an Italian employer applies for authorisation to hire a specific worker against the quota. The current 2026-2028 decree opens a total of 497,550 work permits across the three years.
| Decree period | 2026-2028 (three-year quota) |
| Total quota | 497,550 work permits over three years |
| How it works | Employer-sponsored, quota-limited, submitted on fixed "click days" |
| 2027 pre-filling window | 23 October - 7 December 2026 (ALI portal) |
| Route types | Seasonal (agriculture, tourism) and non-seasonal (subordinate) employment |
Quotas, categories and dates are set by the Italian Ministry of the Interior and change each cycle. Always confirm the current rules and dates on Italy's official ALI portal before acting.
2027 click days
Applications are submitted on fixed dates ("click days") at 09:00 Italian time, after the pre-filling window. For the 2027 cycle, the Ministry's circular sets:
| Date (2027) | Category |
|---|---|
| 12 January | Seasonal employment - agriculture |
| 9 February | Seasonal employment - tourism/hospitality |
| 16 February | Non-seasonal (subordinate) employment |
| 18 February | Family and care / assistance |
Because places are quota-limited and awarded on a first-submitted basis, preparation during the pre-filling window matters. A complete, correct pre-filled application is the single biggest thing in your control.
See if your profile fits a Decreto Flussi route
A Cosmos consultant can assess your eligibility and explain the steps before the 2027 click days. The pre-filling window is open now.
Check My EligibilityHow the process works, step by step
- Eligibility check. Confirm your profile fits a Decreto Flussi category and that an employer route is realistic for you.
- Employer and nulla osta. An Italian employer applies for the work authorisation (nulla osta) against the quota.
- Pre-filling. The application is prepared on the ALI portal during the pre-filling window (23 Oct-7 Dec 2026 for the 2027 cycle).
- Click day. The application is submitted on the fixed date for your category.
- Visa and residence permit. Once the nulla osta is granted, you apply for the entry visa, then the residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) after arrival.
How Cosmos helps (and what we don't do)
Cosmos provides an eligibility assessment and advisory guidance for the Decreto Flussi process. We help you understand whether your profile fits, what documents are needed, how the pre-filling and click-day steps work, and the path from nulla osta to visa and residence permit.
To be clear about scope: the Decreto Flussi is employer-sponsored and quota-based. We do not place you with an Italian employer, and no one can guarantee a quota place — the click day is competitive and places are limited. What we do is make sure that, if you are eligible and have an employer route, your application is understood and prepared properly.
Italy Decreto Flussi FAQs
What is the Decreto Flussi?
The Decreto Flussi is Italy's annual quota decree that sets how many non-EU workers can be admitted for work. The 2026-2028 decree allows 497,550 work permits over the three years. Applications are tied to a quota and an employer, and are submitted on fixed "click days".
When can I apply for the Italy work visa in 2027?
For the 2027 cycle, applications can be pre-filled on Italy's ALI portal from 23 October to 7 December 2026, and submitted on the click days in early 2027: 12 January (seasonal agriculture), 9 February (seasonal tourism), 16 February (non-seasonal employment) and 18 February (family and care). Yes. The Decreto Flussi work route is employer-driven: an Italian employer applies for authorisation (nulla osta) to hire you against the quota. Without an employer sponsor, there is no decreto flussi work application. Cosmos assesses your eligibility and guides you through the process, but does not place you with an employer.
