Canada PR Points Calculator (CRS Score, 2026 Rules)
Enter your age, education, test results and experience to estimate your Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score on IRCC's current grid. Job offers are not scored, because IRCC removed job-offer points on 25 March 2025.
Pick your CLB level for each ability. IELTS General Training equivalents are shown. CELPIP scores match CLB levels one to one. For French, use your NCLC level.
Second official language (optional)
If English is your first official language, this is French, and the other way round.
Job offers are not on this list. IRCC stopped awarding CRS points for them on 25 March 2025, although an offer can still matter for eligibility under the Federal Skilled Worker and Federal Skilled Trades programs and some provincial streams.
Ways to strengthen your score
- Aim for CLB 9 in all four abilities (IELTS GT 8.0 listening, 7.0 reading, writing and speaking). It lifts core language points and opens the higher transferability column, up to 100 points.
- Get an ECA for every credential you hold. Two credentials, one of three years or more, score higher than a single degree.
- French at NCLC 7 in all four abilities adds 25 or 50 additional points.
- A provincial nomination adds 600 points.
Indicative estimate only. This is not your official CRS score, an eligibility decision or a promise of any outcome. It uses the points published on IRCC's CRS criteria page (IRCC update of 22 June 2026, checked 26 September 2026). How this CRS calculator works
The Comprehensive Ranking System is how Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) ranks everyone in the Express Entry pool. Your score comes from four parts: core human capital (age, education, official languages and Canadian work experience), spouse or partner factors, skill transferability, and additional points such as a provincial nomination. Added together, the maximums come to 1,200.
The calculator above uses the point values on IRCC's CRS criteria page and follows the same rules. If your spouse or partner is coming with you and isn't a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, your own maximums drop and their education, language and Canadian experience can add up to 40 points back. Foreign work experience only scores through skill transferability, and job offers score nothing.
It can't tell you whether you meet the minimum requirements of a program such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and it trusts the CLB levels and education level you enter. Treat the number as an estimate. The score IRCC shows in your Express Entry profile is the one that counts.
Your score next to the 2026 draws
IRCC invites candidates who score at or above the cut-off in each round, and most rounds in 2026 have been for a single program or category. These are the cut-offs from the 56 rounds held between 5 January and 16 September 2026, taken from IRCC's rounds data.
| Round type | Rounds in 2026 | Cut-off range (CRS) | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Provincial Nominee Program | 18 | 697–805 | Includes the 600 nomination points |
| Canadian Experience Class | 16 | 507–523 | Needs Canadian work experience |
| French-language proficiency | 10 | 382–420 | |
| Healthcare and social services occupations | 3 | 467–475 | |
| Trades occupations | 1 | 477 | |
| Transport occupations | 1 | 470 | |
| Senior managers with Canadian work experience | 3 | 389–429 | Needs Canadian work experience |
| Physicians with Canadian work experience | 3 | 169–223 | Needs Canadian work experience |
| Skilled military recruits | 1 | 368 |
There has been no all-program round in 2026 so far. A past cut-off says nothing firm about the next one, so check IRCC's Rounds of invitations page before you plan around a number.
How CRS points are calculated
Core points: age, education, language and Canadian experience
Core points are worth up to 500 if you apply alone and up to 460 if your spouse or partner comes with you. Age is scored year by year, not in bands.
| Age | Single | With spouse | Age | Single | With spouse |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 17 or younger | 0 | 0 | 36 | 72 | 65 |
| 18 | 99 | 90 | 37 | 66 | 60 |
| 19 | 105 | 95 | 38 | 61 | 55 |
| 20–29 | 110 | 100 | 39 | 55 | 50 |
| 30 | 105 | 95 | 40 | 50 | 45 |
| 31 | 99 | 90 | 41 | 39 | 35 |
| 32 | 94 | 85 | 42 | 28 | 25 |
| 33 | 88 | 80 | 43 | 17 | 15 |
| 34 | 83 | 75 | 44 | 6 | 5 |
| 35 | 77 | 70 | 45 or older | 0 | 0 |
| Education | Single | With spouse |
|---|---|---|
| Less than secondary school | 0 | 0 |
| Secondary (high school) diploma | 30 | 28 |
| One-year diploma or certificate | 90 | 84 |
| Two-year program | 98 | 91 |
| Bachelor’s degree or three-year+ program | 120 | 112 |
| Two or more credentials, one of three years or longer | 128 | 119 |
| Master’s or entry-to-practice professional degree | 135 | 126 |
| Doctorate (PhD) | 150 | 140 |
Language is scored for each of the four abilities separately, so one weak band costs you on its own line.
| CLB level (per ability) | Single | With spouse | IELTS GT: listening / reading / writing / speaking |
|---|---|---|---|
| CLB 10 or more | 34 | 32 | 8.5 / 8.0 / 7.5 / 7.5 |
| CLB 9 | 31 | 29 | 8.0 / 7.0 / 7.0 / 7.0 |
| CLB 8 | 23 | 22 | 7.5 / 6.5 / 6.5 / 6.5 |
| CLB 7 | 17 | 16 | 6.0 / 6.0 / 6.0 / 6.0 |
| CLB 6 | 9 | 8 | 5.5 / 5.0 / 5.5 / 5.5 |
| CLB 4 or 5 | 6 | 6 | 4.5 / 3.5 / 4.0 / 4.0 (CLB 4) |
| Below CLB 4 | 0 | 0 |
A second official language adds up to 24 points (22 with a spouse): 1 point per ability at level 5–6, 3 at level 7–8 and 6 at level 9 or higher.
| Canadian work experience | Single | With spouse |
|---|---|---|
| None or less than 1 year | 0 | 0 |
| 1 year | 40 | 35 |
| 2 years | 53 | 46 |
| 3 years | 64 | 56 |
| 4 years | 72 | 63 |
| 5 years or more | 80 | 70 |
Why UAE work experience scores through skill transferability
This is where many online estimates go wrong for people applying from the Gulf. IRCC defines Canadian work experience as "working for a Canadian employer in Canada", and working remotely only counts if you were physically in Canada. Years in Dubai or Abu Dhabi earn nothing in the core section. They count in skill transferability, where foreign experience is paired with your language result or with Canadian experience.
| Foreign work experience | CLB 7+ in all abilities, one or more under CLB 9 | CLB 9+ in all four abilities |
|---|---|---|
| 1 or 2 years | 13 | 25 |
| 3 years or more | 25 | 50 |
Education works the same way. A post-secondary credential of one year or longer earns 13 or 25 points with your language result, and a master's, a doctorate, or two credentials (one of three years or more) earn 25 or 50. Pairing either with Canadian experience works too, using 1 year or 2+ years of Canadian experience in place of the language tiers. The education group and the foreign-experience group are each capped at 50, and skill transferability as a whole at 100. A certificate of qualification in a trade adds 25 with CLB 5–6 or 50 with CLB 7 in all four abilities, still inside the 100 cap.
That is why a move from CLB 8 to CLB 9 can matter so much. Someone with a master's and three years of UAE experience goes from 50 to 100 transferability points, before counting the extra core language points.
Applying with a spouse or partner
If your spouse or common-law partner is coming with you and isn't a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, IRCC scores you on the "with spouse" columns: age is capped at 100, education at 140 and each language ability at 32. Your partner can then add up to 40 points: 10 for education, 20 for language (5 per ability at CLB 9 or higher) and 10 for Canadian work experience.
A couple can end up a few points below the same principal applicant alone unless the partner has a degree and good test results. If your partner isn't coming, or is already a Canadian citizen or PR, you're scored as a single applicant.
Additional points
| Factor | Points |
|---|---|
| Provincial or territorial nomination | 600 |
| NCLC 7+ in all four French abilities and CLB 5+ in all four English abilities | 50 |
| NCLC 7+ in all four French abilities, with CLB 4 or lower in English (or no English test) | 25 |
| Canadian post-secondary credential of three years or longer | 30 |
| Canadian post-secondary credential of one or two years | 15 |
| Brother or sister living in Canada (18+, citizen or PR) | 15 |
Additional points are capped at 600 in total.
Job-offer points were removed on 25 March 2025
Older calculators, including earlier versions of this page, added 50 or 200 points for a Canadian job offer. IRCC removed those points "for current and future candidates in the Express Entry pool" from 25 March 2025. An offer can still matter for eligibility. IRCC says that doesn't change for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program and some provincial nominee streams, so keep any offer in your profile.
CRS score or the 67-point FSW grid?
People often mix these up. The Federal Skilled Worker Program has its own selection grid scored out of 100, and you need 67 points or more to qualify for it and enter the pool under that program. The CRS is a different set of points that ranks you once you're in. FSW also needs at least CLB 7 in all four abilities of your first official language, which is why the calculator warns you when any ability is lower. IRCC explains the grid on its six selection factors page.
Practical ways to raise your CRS from the UAE
- Retake your English test with CLB 9 in all four abilities as the target. On IELTS General Training that means at least 8.0 in listening and 7.0 in reading, writing and speaking. PTE Core and CELPIP are accepted too; our PTE guide covers the format.
- Have every credential assessed. A diploma plus a degree can move you to "two or more credentials": 128 points instead of 120 for a bachelor's alone as a single applicant, and a higher transferability tier. Our credential verification page explains the paperwork.
- Take a French test. NCLC 7 in all four abilities adds 50 additional points if your English is CLB 5 or higher, in addition to second-language points. French-language rounds in 2026 have had cut-offs between 382 and 420.
- Check your partner's numbers. A spouse at CLB 9 in all four abilities adds 20 points, and a spouse's master's adds 10.
- Look at provincial streams. A nomination adds 600 points. Each province sets its own criteria, and some streams need a job offer or a connection to the province.
- Watch the calendar. A single applicant loses points every year from age 30, and the drop speeds up after 40.

Frequently asked questions
How is the CRS score calculated?
IRCC adds four parts: core points for age, education, official languages and Canadian work experience (up to 500, or 460 with an accompanying spouse), spouse factors (up to 40), skill transferability (up to 100) and additional points (up to 600). The total is out of 1,200.
What is a good CRS score for Canada PR in 2026?
There isn't one number, because IRCC sets a cut-off for every round and most 2026 rounds were for one program or category. Between 5 January and 16 September 2026, cut-offs ran from 382–420 in French-language rounds and 467–477 in healthcare, trades and transport rounds to 507–523 for the Canadian Experience Class and 697–805 in provincial nominee rounds, which include the 600 nomination points. Check IRCC's Rounds of invitations page for the latest results.
Does a Canadian job offer still add CRS points?
No. IRCC removed job-offer points (50, or 200 for senior management roles) from 25 March 2025. An offer can still be part of your eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker or Federal Skilled Trades programs and some provincial streams.
Does work experience in the UAE count for CRS points?
Yes, but only through skill transferability. Combined with CLB 7 or higher in every ability, 1–2 years earns 13 points and 3+ years earns 25; at CLB 9 or higher in all four, those become 25 and 50. It never counts as Canadian experience, which IRCC limits to working for a Canadian employer in Canada.
How does applying with my spouse change my CRS score?
If your spouse or partner comes with you and isn't a Canadian citizen or PR, your own maximums fall (for example, 100 instead of 110 for age), and your partner can add up to 40 points for education, language and Canadian work experience.
What IELTS score do I need for Canada PR?
For the Federal Skilled Worker Program you need at least CLB 7 in each ability, which is IELTS General Training 6.0 in each. For a stronger CRS, CLB 9 means 8.0 in listening and 7.0 in reading, writing and speaking. Results must be less than two years old when you complete your Express Entry profile.
Is the CRS calculator the same as the 67-point FSW calculator?
No. The 67-point grid decides whether you qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. The CRS, out of 1,200, ranks you against other candidates once you're in the pool.
How accurate is an online CRS calculator?
Only as accurate as its inputs and the grid behind it. This one uses IRCC's current values, checked on 26 September 2026, and we test it against worked examples from the official tables. The usual errors elsewhere are counting foreign experience as Canadian, still adding job-offer points and using age bands instead of exact ages. Your official score is the one in your IRCC profile.
