Australia regulates migration advice through individual registration, not company branding. The firm should name the MARA-registered agent (with their MARN) who will handle your case and give you a direct link to the OMARA register. "We are Australia-registered" without a named, searchable agent is not enough.
Verify: search the MARN on portal.mara.gov.au and confirm it is current.
Subclass 189, 190 and 491 each suit different points scores, occupations and state or regional nominations. A credible agent runs a points assessment and checks your occupation against the current skilled lists before recommending a route - not the package that is easiest to sell.
Your occupation must be assessed as suitable by the designated authority (ACS, VETASSESS, Engineers Australia and others). The agent should confirm the correct authority, the evidence it expects, and how your UAE experience will be documented - before you lodge anything.
Fees should be quoted per stage against defined deliverables - assessment, skills assessment support, EOI and lodgement - in an engagement letter you sign before paying. An "all-in" quote before your profile is reviewed is a sales hook.
No agent can guarantee permanent residence; Home Affairs decides. An agent who puts a promise in writing is signalling the wrong thing. The honest deliverable is a points and eligibility assessment that shows where your profile stands today.
