Immigration Consultants in Abu Dhabi: Verify Before You Choose

Canada's and Australia's registers list individual practitioners, not companies. A company name on an advert tells you very little. What you want is the name of the person who will review and submit your application, and a register entry that matches it. So here are ours.

Canada

For Canadian applications, the practitioner is the RCIC Cosmos works with, Kamaljit Singh Mundi (CICC, R531489). RCIC stands for Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant. You can search his name or college ID on the CICC public register. The register shows the individual's licence status and any disciplinary record. It does not list Cosmos as a company, and it isn't meant to: it records people.

Australia

For Australian applications, Cosmos works with MARA-registered agent Andrew John Kerr (MARN 1069227). Search the MARN on the MARA register of migration agents. His entry lists Cosmos Immigration, Dubai, as an associated business. Under Australian law, only registered migration agents and Australian legal practitioners can lawfully be paid for giving immigration assistance in Australia.

How do I verify an immigration consultant in Abu Dhabi? (step by step)

The check is the same for any consultant on your shortlist, including us. It costs nothing.

1. Ask the consultant, in writing, for the full name of the practitioner who will handle your file, and their register number.
2. For Canada, open the CICC register at college-ic.ca (the search runs on register.college-ic.ca) and search that name or college ID.
3. For Australia, open the MARA register at portal.mara.gov.au and search the name or MARN.
4. Check that the status is active and read any listed conditions or decisions.
5. Make sure the same name appears on your written service agreement before you pay anything.

CICC is Canada's current regulator

The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) has been Canada's regulator for immigration consultants since 23 November 2021. Any certificate, logo or advert that cites its predecessor council is out of date. When you search, use the CICC register, not an older one.

How working with Cosmos from Abu Dhabi works

Here is what happens if you book with us, and who does each part. We don't give timelines up front, because processing times are set by governments and change often.

1. Book a slot. Use the assessment form and choose the Abu Dhabi calendar, or message us on WhatsApp. You can come to the office or meet by video.

3. Written scope agreement. If you go ahead, you sign an agreement that names the registered practitioner on your file and sets out what we do and what you do.
4. Document plan. We give you a checklist and help you line up the pieces that take longest, such as credential assessments, language tests and employer reference letters.
5. Review and submission. The registered practitioner named in your agreement reviews the file and submits it.
6. Decision and next steps. The government makes the decision. We explain the result and what comes next, whether that's landing preparation or a plan to strengthen the file.

Moving to Canada from Abu Dhabi

Most people in Abu Dhabi who ask us about Canada are skilled workers applying for permanent residence from outside Canada. For them, the main door is Express Entry. Provincial programs are the second.

Express Entry. This is the online system IRCC uses to manage applications for three federal programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. For someone working in the UAE, the Federal Skilled Worker Program is usually the relevant one. Its criteria include at least 1 year of continuous skilled work experience within the last 10 years and a minimum language level of CLB 7. Eligible candidates create a profile, get a ranking score and wait for an invitation to apply. You can get a rough idea of your score with our Canada PR points calculator.

Category-based rounds. IRCC also runs invitation rounds for particular groups, such as healthcare and social services occupations. For these, IRCC asks for at least 12 months of full-time work experience (or the same amount part-time) within the past 3 years, in one of the listed occupations. The experience doesn't have to be continuous. If your job is on a category list, this can matter more than a few extra points.

Provincial Nominee Programs. Provinces choose people for their own labour needs. Ontario is the clearest example of how fast this changes. Its 8 former OINP streams were closed as of 30 May 2026. Amendments that came into force on 25 June 2026 removed those streams and introduced the Ontario Workforce Priority stream, and Ontario opened its expression of interest portal for the new stream on 4 August 2026. Advice built on the old Ontario streams is now out of date.

What are the most common immigration scams in Abu Dhabi and the UAE?

The same few patterns come up again and again in regulator and government fraud warnings: job offers abroad sold for a fee, promises that a visa will be approved, payments routed to personal bank accounts, and "consultants" who exist only on social media. A named practitioner on a public register, an office you can visit and a written agreement will filter out most of them.

Each pattern fails a simple check. Visa decisions belong to governments (IRCC in Canada, the Department of Home Affairs in Australia, the Home Office in the UK), so nobody outside them can promise an outcome. A job offer should come from a real employer, not be bought through a consultant. A genuine business invoices through a company account. What should I ask an immigration consultant before paying?

Ask five things before paying any consultant in Abu Dhabi:

1. Which registered practitioner is on my file, and on which register can I find them?
2. What exactly is in the written scope, and what is the refund position?
3. What is my realistic eligibility, in writing?
4. Who prepares my application, and who submits it?
5. What happens if my application is refused?

Clear answers to all five are a good sign. Hesitation on any of them is worth noticing. We answer them in the first session, and the eligibility question is the reason our process starts with an assessment rather than a contract.

Which countries can I apply to from Abu Dhabi?

From Abu Dhabi, the main skilled-migration destinations are Canada, Australia, the UK, the USA and New Zealand, plus the UAE's own Golden Visa if you'd rather stay. Most of these routes are points- or criteria-based, so your profile matters more than where you live.

• Canada suits skilled workers who can reach a competitive Express Entry score or fit a provincial stream. See Canada PR.

What changed in 2026 (and why current advice matters)

• Ontario, 30 May 2026: Ontario's 8 former OINP streams were closed as of 30 May 2026 (ontario.ca).
• Ontario, 25 June 2026: the amendments removing those 8 streams came into force and introduced the new Ontario Workforce Priority stream. The expression of interest portal for the new stream opened on 4 August 2026 (ontario.ca).
• Canada, Start-up Visa: IRCC stopped accepting commitment certificates after 31 December 2025, and the Start-up Visa Program has been paused since 30 June 2026 (IRCC).
• Canada, Express Entry category rounds: candidates need at least 12 months of full-time work experience (or the part-time equivalent) within the past 3 years in a listed occupation (IRCC).
• UK, 8 January 2026: the English language requirement rose from B1 to B2 for some work routes, including Skilled Worker visas (gov.uk).
• UK, 22 July 2025: the general salary threshold for Skilled Workers became £41,700 (gov.uk).
• UAE Golden Visa, property route: ICP lists property with a total value of at least AED 2,000,000, fully owned and registered in the investor's name. The property may be financed through a loan from an approved local bank. Off-plan units also qualify if bought from an approved local real estate company authorised by the competent local authority (icp.gov.ae).
