Critical Skills Employment Permit
For roles on Ireland's Critical Skills Occupations List earning EUR 32,000 or more. Permit holders can bring their family immediately. After 2 years, they can apply for Stamp 4 — permission to live and work in Ireland without any further employment permit.
General Employment Permit
For roles not on the ineligible list, earning EUR 34,000 or more. A labour market needs test (LMNT) is required. Renewed annually initially, progressing toward Stamp 4 eligibility.
Stamp 4 Permission
After qualifying periods on employment permits, applicants gain Stamp 4 — unrestricted permission to work for any employer without a permit. A key milestone toward long-term residency and citizenship.
Irish Citizenship
After 5 years of continuous or aggregate reckonable residency in Ireland. Dual citizenship permitted. Irish passport provides EU freedom of movement.
