Due to the uncertainty of spousal immigration during the pandemic, many people have been separated from their loved ones. IRCC has increased<\/strong> their staff<\/strong> for faster immigration<\/strong> processes and expects to welcome 80000 immigrants from the year 2021 under the children, spousal and partner category.

The relationship between the sponsor and their loved ones must be corresponding to one of the following classes:

\u2022  Spouse<\/strong>: He\/she is at least 18 years old and is legally married to you.

\u2022  Common-law partner<\/strong>: He\/she is at least 18 years old, and has been living with you for a minimum of 12 months without a longer interrupted period.

\u2022  Conjugal partner<\/strong>: He\/she is at least 18 years old and is in a genuine relationship with you for a minimum of 12 months but could not marry you for reasons beyond your control.

Canada’s government recognizes same-sex marriages<\/strong> but you are required to comply with eligibility standards of Immigration, refugees and citizenship in Canada.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERION OF IRCC:<\/strong>

You can sponsor your partner if:

\u2022  You are an adult <\/strong>(18 years old).

\u2022  You are a citizen of Canada or permanent resident<\/strong> of Canada.

\u2022  You prove that you plan to live in Canada<\/strong> with the sponsored person once the immigration process is successful.

\u2022  You prove your disability is the only reason behind acquiring social assistance<\/strong>. (applicable to those who receive social assistance)

\u2022  You are financially capable<\/strong> of providing the basic needs to the sponsored person.

STEPS TO APPLY FOR CANADA IMMIGRATION:<\/strong>

To sponsor your loved one for immigration you are required to submit two applications<\/strong> at a time:

\u2022  Sponsorship application
\u2022  Permanent residency application

SUBMISSION OF SPONSORSHIP APPLICATION<\/strong>

Check out the following steps to successfully approach permanent residency with your loved one.

Step 1<\/strong>: Receive your application package from IRCC.

Step 2<\/strong>: Payment of application fees<\/strong> which includes processing fees, the right of permanent residence fee, and biometrics fee. The mode of payment remains online on IRCC\u2019s official website.

Step 3<\/strong>: Recheck<\/strong> your document and mail the correct application to IRCC.

Now you have to be patient until your application is processed which is generally occurs within 12 months of application.

AFTER COMPLETION OF APPLICATION<\/strong>

Each couple is needed to continue fulfilling certain obligations after successful permanent residency:
